The IPTV sector has been a-buzz lately about the prospects for Asian markets to boom in the near future. China, no surprise, is leading the boom. Market research firm iSuppli said this week that China's total IPTV subscriber base is in the process of doubling this year from just over 4 million to 8.5 million. Growth will continue in coming years to increase the total IPTV market in China to 31 million in 2014, iSuppli said.
Still, more than half of the current subscribers are in just three regions--the city of Shanghai and the provinces of Guangdong and Jiangsu--with only a handful of China's 22 provinces overall surpassing the 100,000 subscriber mark
