On 27 January, MIIT announced annual report of 2009 telecom industry development status.
Feng Zhang from MIIT said that it has been 10 years since triple play was introduced in China. As the technnologies and devices have matured, China government has decided to give a fillip to triple play development.
Zhang said that MIIT is now working on regulations of technologies and standards, besides choosing trial location of triple play services. It expects that SARFT and Telecom enterprises will go into this market during year 2010 and 2012. Till 2013 and 2015, it will roll out triple play services across China. (Alice He)
