Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) recorded a capex of NT$16.56 billion (US$505 million) for January-September 2009, 79.8% of which went on fixed-line and Internet infrastructure and 17.8% on mobile communication networks, the company disclosed during its third-quarter investors conference.
As of the end of September 2009, CHT had 1.507 million FTTx and 2.799 million ADSL subscribers as well as 4.693 million 2G and 4.489 million 3G subscribers, CHT indicated.
CHT had introduced 78 SD and 3 HD channels for its MOD platform as of the end of September, with 10-15 more channels being negotiated, the company indicated. CHT's VOD service currently has a library of 9,000 hours of SD/HD movies with 700 hours updated a week, CHT pointed out.
