China Telecom Launches IMS Pilot in Seven Mai

China Telecom has increased efforts to promote its Full Service Operation and began the building of IMS pilot in seven main provinces, after completing its pre-building of 3G CDMA networks. ZTE participated in five of the seven provinces.

China Telecom began to research and develop the CDMA-based video conferencing, VT and other video services, after obtaining a license for operating the 3G CDMA network. China Telecom’s efforts focuses on the IMS-based PSTN network transformation, EPON/AG access transformation, multi-service trigger, the combination of IMS and Internet business as well as other issues.

As an important strategic partner of China Telecom, ZTE has committed to providing customers with personalized technology, solutions and services.

Back on April 10, 2009, China Telecom and ZTE jointly opened the world’s first IMS mobile video phones. And during China Telecom’s IMS pre-test, ZTE was the only vendor who had the ability to provide EV-DO-based mobile terminals and complete end to end solutions.

With the successful testing of video call, multimedia-ringtone, video conference and IM/PS, ZTE has reached the top position in China’s IMS domain.
