China Telecom Joins Google Android Open Alliance

China Telecom has joined the Google Android Open Alliance, Google vice president of product development Mario Queiroz Queiroz was speaking at the opening ceremony of Google Nexus One phone's launching.

There are lots of signals showing that China Telecom and Google would enter into co-operation. In December 2009, China Telecom has started the test of  Android-based phones, and the models of Android phone have been launched, a source said.

It is reported that these models are currently being tested and improved, while the commercial products are expected to be officially available in March,2010 .

On December 29, 2009, Motorola and China Telecom have jointly released the world's first dual-model Android phone-- Chi Shang XT800. This also showed that China Telecom was to develop phones based on Google’s Android platform. (Paul)
