3G Video Surveillance Expected to Boom in Chi

The nation's three operators, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom have launched video surveillance services based on 3G networks, both fixed and mobile convergence of solutions. This clearly shows that the 3G based value-added services are going to boom in China. 

At the upcoming Shanghai World Expo 2010, video surveillance service based on 3G network is expected to play a key role on security protection.

"3G video surveillance will be an effective way to make sure the success of Shanghai World Expo through providing full range of security protections. The security persons would take everything under their control, with the help of 3G video surveillance cameras located in all the corners." said an expert participating in the project from Shanghai Telecom.

“This is just a special case, but it indeed shows that the 3G video surveillance has already begun to play its role in China’s security protection market,” an industry analyst told our reporter in an interview.

The three operators are also seeing this as huge potential market, so they have launched their 3G video surveillance soulutions—China Mobile’s “God Eye” ,China Telecom’s “Global Eye”,and “Broad Vision” from China Unicom.(Paul)
