2009 China (Guangzhou) International Mobile Internet Summit Forum and 2009 Outstanding Achievement Awards of China Mobile Internet Conference opened in Beijing Pazhou complex recently.
Yi Zhang, CEO of Iimedia Research Group while giving a speech on “China's mobile Internet data sharing and market development situation analysis” said that the total number of China’s Mobile Internet is now close to 0.2 billion, WAP domain name is over 0.5 million and WAP website has exceeded 1.56 billion.
Zhang said that China WAP has entered a period of rapid growth. “At present, the Internet development speed is as fast as in year 2000 and 2001”, he added.
Zhang believed that sales volume of China Mobile Internet industry will be CNY 44.2 billion for the year 2009, including operators’ SP revenue, individual WAP website and traffic charges. Zhang estimated that China Mobile Internet industry size will increase to CNY 161 billion and WAP services will gain CNY 33.5 billion by the year 2013.
Refering to mobile reader market size, Zhang said that this year it is expected to achieve 3 billion yuan. The data growing speed will exceed 50% in year 2010 till 2011. But wireless e-business just occupies 7.3% market share, 92.7% of cellphone network users have not tried mobile phone e-business services before, he pointed out.
