On 13 January 2010, Chinese primeminister Jiabao Wen held a meeting which aims to push integration of Internet, telecom and radio network to achieve triple play deployment in China. It is pointed out that operators need to accelerate telecom network infrastructure, accelerating development of Fiber to the home (FTTH) and enlarging network coverage of rural area.

Triple Play deployment is expected to update daily information life of Chinese people.

From economic respect, broadband development could adjust national economic structure; improve the share of tertiary industry in total GDP. It is a challenge for telecom industry, and also a great opportunity for broadband network due to technology innovation.

Since 2009, the development of broadband network has grown rapidly. A senior telecom expert Jinqiao Chen said: “broadband access market has gone into fast growing period since 2009, with new enrolled subscribers reaching 21 million last year. We expect this rapid grow in 2010 also.”(Alice He)
