Having lost out on the high-profile TeliaSonera LTE deployment contract, Huawei has been busy signing deals with other European operators for M2M partnerships and network enhancements.

The company announced that it has agreed to a co-development MoU with T-Mobile Germany and Deutsche Telekom to build and sell M2M services. The MoU calls for the partners to acquire pilot customers for strategic projects and to identify new customer segments for M2M products and applications. This will also include the development of joint distribution and business models.

Marc Büsgen, sales head of T-Mobile Deutschland, said: "This MoU will emphasise our claim to offer, together with established international partners on the basis of our mobile broadband network, high-performance products as well as tailored solutions that fulfil specific and unusual customer requirements."

Last month, Huawei said that it had agreed to a partnership deal with Cinterion Wireless to jointly manage customer projects and the sustainable development of the M2M marketplace.

Separately, Huawei said it has won two mobile network equipment contracts from French celcos SFR and Bouygues Telecom. Until now the two operators have opted to use NSN and Ericsson, respectively, to supply their 3G infrastructure. However, the new deals are said to have been won based upon Huawei offering the best price.
