China Telecom reportedly has gained RMB 1 billion through its "Global Eye" service, a 3G-based video surveillance service launched by the company in the beginning of 2009.
After going into the 3G (the third generation) era, three Chinese operators,China Telecom, China Unicom and China Mobile have committed to take Vedio Surveillance business as the key component of their total revenue. All of them have met success, especially the China Telecom’s "Global Eye".
3G-based vedio surveillance is superior to the traditional CCTV system. It has more excellent features, such as mobility, high quality images, real time transport and so on, which has attracted lots of attentions since its first appearance in China.
Experts in the industry said that video surveillance is a important application in daily lives, especially during the 3G era . With the speed of networks being largely improved, more and more SMBs and even families will select a video surveillance solution to protect their property or track their work process, experts said.
