Jianzhou Wang, China Mobile CEO, has indicated that number of TD users have exceeded 5.51 million, and base stations amount to 87, 000. Moreover, Wang said that the company will finish TD deployment much in advance, and China Mobile aims to finish next two years project of TD-SCDMA in 2010.
Wang also said that China Mobile will build 70,000 base stations. Meanwhile, it will accomplish TD network, which based on IP and integrates 2G and 3G network together.
Wang in his speech also gave thanks the persons who are supporting TD development from related national governments and society. Especially, MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic China) has assigned TD50M frequencies to China Mobile in the end of last year, which gives great help to TD signal coverage.
Wang said that TD-SCDMA has turned from local trial network to 3G commercial network which covers 70% of cities and regions in China.
The technology problem of TD terminal has been fixed. Currently, there are 11 terminal modes available in market. The number of TD-SCDMA terminals has reached 266 modes. (Alice He)
