China Telecom, which owns the biggest 3G network in China, is now laying stress on 3G development in rural areas.
At present, China Telecom’s 3G network covers major counties and almost 10,000 villages, and now it is focusing on 3G demands of rural areas.
China Telecom recently has rearranged its customer service departments, merging family service department with individual service department. After merging, the company is focusing on business, family, individual and rural areas customers.
Since China Telecom began CDMA service, it has gathered many new 3G subscribers from campus and targets user from rural areas. (Alice He)
