China to set fixed-line charge ceiling
2010-08-06 17:01:13   来源:企业网D1Net   评论:0 点击:

China will set an upper price limit for fixed-line telephone charges. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission say the charges should not exceed charges set in 2001. The movement aims to encourage market competition and protect consumer rights.

At present, three telecommunications companies provide fixed-line phone services. They are China Telecom, China Unicom and China Mobile. They are required to offer at least one pricing scheme no higher than the 2001 charge standard. But the firms are also allowed to offer other pricing schemes according to their own situations and market demand.
