For years many discussions have been held on Mobile Phone Identification Policy. It is understood that new subscribers in Beijing will be applied this Mobile Phone Indentification Policy from Apirl this year. Meanwhile, the existing millions of cell phone users will transit to this real name registration policy in following 3 and 4 years.
The major mobile operators are however not ready to comment officially on it. Inspite of various phone calls made to China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, the companies refused to give any specific information on it.
However, sources said that China Unicom will begin Mobile Phone Identification Policy on new subcribers of landline phone, cellphone and broadband from Apirl. (Alice He)
