On 3 Feburary, SARFT authoritized 3G Licenses to the first gourp of 8 enterprises, including CCTV, SMG (Shanghai Media Group), The People’s Daily and Xinhua News Agency among others.
Last year February, some Internet video websites had applied for 3G mobile phone audio-visual licenses, such as Youku and Ku6 websites.
Obviously, Internet video sharing websites like Youku and Ku6 are not included in this group of enterprises who got licenses this time. The 8 enterprises that got licenses this time all belong to SARFT. (Alice He)
