According to informed sources, the results of China Mobile's high-profile phase-1 PTN equipment purchasing were unveiled according to which ZTE, Huawei, Fiberhome, ASB, Ericsson, Nokia Siemens Networks were involved in the competitive bidding.
It’s reported that ZTE and Huawei lead the other enterprises by occuping 35% of the market share respectively. Moreover, the total share of domestic manufacturers has reached 90%.
China Mobile will focus on the "Wireless + Wired" strategy in 2010. The core mission of Wired is to build the next generation of 3G MAN networks through PTN. To achieve this goal, China Mobile conducted a large-scale PTN Purchasing bidding in early October , which is a key move by the company to become a leader in business services domain though 3G and All-IP accessing.
This is only phase-1 of China Mobile’s PTN purchasing; phase-2 bidding is likely to take place in the near future, which may offer more chances for oversea vendors.
