Telkom awards turnkey cable contract to Huawei&nbs

Huawei Technologies’ subsidiary Huawei Marine Networks Co has signed a turnkey contract with Indonesia’s PT Telekomunikasi (Telkom) to build the latter’s new submarine cable system. The project will help in connecting five islands in eastern Indonesia spanning 1,200km, Huawei said, with an initial capacity of 4 x 10Gbps. It is scheduled for completion by end of 2010.
