China Unicom which has bagged licence to offer 3G services over WCDMA technology has ranked ZTE, Huawei and Ericsson as top 3 vendors following the service providers recent testing.
China Unicom conducted tests in 77 cities from August 31 to September 18 and found that the Ideal Index was achieved in 30 cities. ZTE, Huawei and Ericsson claimed top 3 positions in the Ideal Index cities. The tests were conducted by China Unicom’s Operation & Maintenance Division.
The tests point out that out of the key cities tested, 18 out of 55 achieved an Ideal Index ranking, including 7 cities that utilize ZTE’s network and equipment, 9 with Huawei and 2 with Ericsson. ZTE claims that it attained the highest ratio on network Ideal Index and 7 cities out of 10 cities under it attained the Ideal Index, accounting for 70% of its network involved in the testing. This makes it the top provider that made the highest Ideal Index, followed by Huawei’s 47%.
In all the 77 tested cities, 30 cities reached the network’s Ideal Index ranking, with 10 out of 14 ZTE networks achieving this highest level of ranking, representing a total of 71.4% network Ideal Index, followed by Huawei’s 52% and Ericsson’s 27%.
