MediaTek Inc, the Taiwan-based equipment vendor has signed a strategic memorandum of cooperation with AST Wireless, a Suzhou-based company, focusing on the development of TD-SCDMA Modem chips. This cooperation is expected to integrate the strengths and resources of both parties.
With the commercialization of TD-SCDMA network in China market, the demand for different types of products has also been expanding, Through the strategic alliance with AST Wireless, combined with its deep experience in the wireless communications market, MediaTek hopes to provide more products with different features, with an aim to promote the performance of Chinese TD-SCDMA industry chain with its partners and other vendors related to TD.
