摘 要:New deal fortifies dominance in the Asia Pacific
22 March 2010, Kuala Lumpur – Greenpacket, a leading developer of next generation mobile broadband and networking solutions, inked a deal with Taiwan’s WiMAX Operator, Global Mobile Corp (“Global Mobile”) to provide its Intouch Connection Management solution (Intouch CM). This deal signifies the third partnership between Greenpacket and WiMAX Operators in Taiwan - gaining the Company 75% of Taiwan’s WiMAX marketshare.
According to Senior General Manager of Greenpacket, Kelvin Lee, being strong in Taiwan helps fortifies the Company’s leading position in the Asia Pacific (APAC) market. Taiwan is a major WiMAX hub in the APAC with vigorous WiMAX deployments, and with two of the world’s six WiMAX Forum® certification labs are situated.
Lee said, “Greenpacket is currently No.1 in the APAC for the sales of our Connection Manager. We’ve set our sight to be the world’s No.1 vendor by end 2010. We believe that the APAC, with its high growth prospect, will be our springboard.”
The mobile broadband industry is rapidly developing in the APAC region with hugely populated countries such as China and India implementing mandates to boost broadband penetration. India mandates to have 20 million broadband users by 2010 and approximately 600,000 villages connected via broadband. Frost & Sullivan projects the number of WiMAX subscribers in the APAC to reach 24 million by 2014, with estimated revenues of up to USD6.4 billion as the region continues to lead the world in WiMAX innovation.
“The software demand for both 3G and 4G technology will increase in tandem with the anticipated high mobile broadband growth of these markets. Our Intouch CM solution is fast gaining popularity amongst 4G WiMAX and 3G Operators because it is a high performance product that delivers the desired results. We understand that today’s end-consumers expect more – on top of an improved connectivity experience, they highly value products that complement and enrich their advanced lifestyles. The Intouch CM packs in the punch to help Operators fulfil today’s advanced lifestyle needs,” said Lee.
Global Mobile needed to manage connectivity across multiple Operating Systems. Greenpacket’s Intouch CM unifies Global Mobile’s existing dongles making it easier for the Operator to introduce new dongle models in the future. Implementing the Intouch CM helps Global Mobile to enrich its customer’s connectivity experience and support better Average Revenue per User gains. Over the longer run, the solution is expected to help bring down operating costs by reducing customer support costs.
“We strive to constantly be at the forefront of customer needs, and are committed to delivering innovative and high quality products. Our leading position is proof of this commitment,” said Lee.
In 2010, Greenpacket aims to increase its market share in regions outside of APAC where it already has strong traction including the USA, Central and Latin America, and Europe. The company has doubled its sales force in these markets to be closer to its customers, better understand their needs and to strengthen business relationships.
